Lifeyear OÜ – Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: 1 September 2025

Lifeyear OÜ is committed to making its website and mobile applications accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This accessibility statement applies to the Lifeyear platform, including:

  • Lifeyear Patient Mobile Application (for patients)
  • Lifeyear Specialist Dashboard (web platform for healthcare professionals (HCPs))

Compliance status

The Lifeyear platform is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):

(a) Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Lifeyear Patient Mobile Application

The following criteria are currently not met:

  • Audio descriptions and alternatives for prerecorded/live audio and video content (SC 1.2.3, 1.2.5–1.2.9)
  • Screen rotation is not supported, limiting flexibility in how the app is viewed (SC 1.3.4)
  • Some visual content lacks proper presentation adjustments for users with vision impairments (SC 1.4.8)
  • Re-authentication processes are not fully accessible (SC 2.2.5)
  • Use of unusual words and pronunciation issues may reduce understanding (SC 3.1.3, 3.1.6)
  • Authentication steps need improvement for users relying on assistive technologies (SC 3.3.8, 3.3.9)

Partially met criteria:

  • Alternative text for non-text content is incomplete in places (SC 1.1.1)
  • Some links lack clear descriptions when viewed out of context (SC 2.4.9)
  • Error prevention features are partly implemented but need strengthening (SC 3.3.6)

The following criteria do not apply:

1.2.4, 1.4.2, 2.1.1–2.1.4, 2.2.6, 2.4.1, 2.5.3, 2.5.4, 2.5.7, 4.1.2, 4.1.3

Lifeyear Specialist Dashboard

The following criteria are currently not met:

  • Visual presentation and content reflow adjustments for easier reading (SC 1.4.8, 1.4.10)
  • Full keyboard navigation support is missing, affecting users who do not use a mouse (SC 2.1.1, 2.1.3)
  • Re-authentication processes are not accessible (SC 2.2.5)
  • Lack of skip links or ways to bypass repetitive navigation (SC 2.4.1)
  • Some interactive elements are too small for easy use (SC 2.5.5, 2.5.8)
  • Complex language and unclear abbreviations may reduce comprehension (SC 3.1.3, 3.1.4, 3.1.6)

While these criteria are essential for ensuring accessibility, the impact is considered less significant for the healthcare professional-facing web platform, as healthcare professionals are expected to be familiar with clinical terminology and standard abbreviations.

  • Help and guidance features require improvement (SC 3.3.5)
  • Authentication processes need enhancement for assistive technology users (SC 3.3.9)

Partially met criteria:

  • Some images and icons lack descriptive text (SC 1.1.1)
  • Certain links do not clearly state their purpose out of context (SC 2.4.9)
  • Error prevention is partially implemented but could be improved (SC 3.3.6)

The following criteria do not apply:

1.2.1–1.2.9, 1.4.2, 2.1.4, 2.5.4, 2.5.7, 3.1.5

We are committed to making both our mobile app and web platform accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. The web platform is primarily used by healthcare professionals, which explains why certain accessibility criteria (marked as not applicable or not met) differ from the mobile app. We are actively working on improvements through regular updates and continued development.

(b) Disproportionate burden

We are not claiming any exemptions on the grounds of disproportionate burden at this time.

(c) Content not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

No third-party content is currently used in either the mobile or web platform; therefore, all content falls within the scope of the accessibility regulations.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement applies from 01/09/2025. It was prepared on 30/06/2025 following a self-assessment of the Lifeyear mobile app and web platform’s accessibility compliance. The statement was last reviewed on 02/07/2025.

We aim to review and update this statement regularly; at least once per year or following any significant updates to the mobile app or web platform.
