Lifeyear joins the UK Government’s Global Entrepreneur Programme

We’re proud to share that Lifeyear has been accepted onto the UK government’s Global Entrepreneur Programme (GEP), an important step in building our company in the UK and beyond.

We started in Estonia, where national digital health records, e-prescriptions and data sharing have been part of everyday care for nearly two decades. Yet cardiovascular death rates there remain 67% above the EU average. The UK is where cardiovascular care is being rethought right now: England’s new Modern Service Framework for cardiovascular disease aims to cut premature deaths from heart disease and stroke by 25% within 10 years, moving heart care from hospital to community and from analogue to digital-first. Lifeyear exists to turn national targets and clinical guidelines like these into real-world outcomes for patients and care teams.

The GEP is the UK government’s highly selective programme for ambitious international scaleups looking to establish a UK headquarters or R&D presence and use the country as a launchpad for global expansion. It combines dealmaker-led strategic mentorship with dedicated support from the GEP team, who guide founders through onboarding, visa processes and UK market integration. The programme marked its 20th anniversary this year and has become a cornerstone of the UK’s innovation and growth strategy.

This support builds on foundations we already have in place in the UK: Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a shareholder, £100,000 in Innovate UK funding for a feasibility study in Thames Valley, NHS DTAC compliance, and Lifeyear Ltd, our UK company, based in London.

Thank you to our dealmaker, Tony Kypreos, to Sarah R., and the GEP team at the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade for their support.
